"You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are"
(Lyrics from a song Waymaker by Leland)
WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO TO ENSURE WE WALK IN THE PROMISES OF GOD?
First and foremost, read the promises and know that all 3537 promises are written there to
be kept by out Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the Lord God Almighty.
When you read one His of promises, meditate on it, ask for His guidance and let God
reveal Himself to you through that mediation on the scripture. By doing this you are seeking
the presence of God in your life. When He makes His presence known to you through
hearing a rhema (a word of God), a confirmation, a dream, a vision, or through scriptural
verses, a prophetic word spoken over you, this is one of the steps needed to initiate your
walk in the promises of God. This is where you have acknowledged His presence in your life.
Being with the Lord and having given your life and heart to Him, will give you peace, but does
not secure a trouble free life. As Jesus said in Matthew 10:22 "...You will be hated by
everyone because of my name"... When the trouble does come, the importance of relying on
Jesus as your rock and your foundation is so so important. Some would say that surrendering
to Jesus all control of your life, placing your troubles at the foot of the Cross is paramount, for
a successful walk in faith, and a fulfilling walk in His promises.
At times we are disobedient to God and do not listen, or do what He commands us to do. Other
times we think we know where He is taking us and we run ahead of Him. This action does one
of several things; screws up God's plan for us; ties His hands to help us; or takes us down the
completely wrong path, that God allows due to our folly of knowing what God is going to do.
REMEMBER: TRUST GOD'S TIMING!
God made a covenant with us that He will keep His promises and He is fulfilling that contract.
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
