Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Have you every wondered what to do when you didn't know what to do?
For example, when you have a baby, your newborn, and for all the books you've read, YouTube videos you've watched, unwanted advice that people gave you, and from all of that, you think you have this parenting thing for a new born under control. Then the baby comes. Sure enough, within a short period of time, a situation occurs with your infant that you have no idea what to do. You have no idea what to do, because you can't see the solution, as this event falls between the 54th and 55th page of every book you've read or between the 10'32" and 10'33" mark of the video you just watched on the same subject!
What do you do?
Most likely, you wing it, wing it with love. Wing it by taking a walk by Faith that it will all work out and we'll be able to solve the issue at hand.
This is how are Heavenly Father asks us to walk with Him. Winging it is not the cavalier throwing caution to the wind to see which way it blows, but winging it through your walk by Faith, not by sight. Yet, winging it not relying on ourselves to discover the answer, but winging it by the reliance on Him, trusting Him without question, to know that it is all going to work out. We know that it is all going to work out because He loves us. He fills us to the brim, layers it over and wraps us up tight in His love, care and Grace.
Faith is the result of Grace.
When we are in His love, we are in His grace and we are in faith, yet there is more. There are works needed. We are in that faith only when we love Him and follow His word.
This is an important point.
Do we feel His love?...for some perhaps not. Do many not know of His love? Yes. Do some deny His existence and deny His love? Absolutely. These people walk in faith of themselves and faith in what the world shows, and sees in them. That is not a biblical truth.
It is true that one must do some work in order to take care of our body. Food, exercise, sleep, water, outside everyday etc. are important for care of the temple. When you go for your daily walk/run, what do you do?
You put on the appropriate clothing, fill up your water bottle, set up your music or podcast and headphones, put on your exercise shoes, and set out the route in your head. Then, off you go, knowing that you have done all you need to do in order to get from start to finish. It's the one foot in front of the other, while maintaining balance, and watching for cars that will allow you to finish that one exercise plan of the day.
When walking in faith, you must do some work to take care of that faith as well. You must set yourself ready to experience, feel and demonstrate your faith.
First you must clothe yourself in the word of God. That word will be comfortable at times, at other times supportive. It shapes you yet is not restrictive, flexible around you but not weak in construction that it gives way to stress from you or so loose in fit that it falls off. The word can be worn, but the word never wears out.
Prayer fills up your cup to overflowing as you deepen in faith through your personal relationship with Jesus. Filling you up with rivers of living water.
In your ears are the sounds from the Angels singing through the heavens, those songs written on earth to glorify our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This music serves n building our relationship and our faith. The sound of the podcasts playing in our head are God's voice, live. In this way He gives us instructions, or engages us in conversation such as He did with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day in the beginning before the fall. The podcasts build our faith. After all, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God
We can be clothed in the word, as stated above, yet we must also walk in the word, along the path that the word lays out for us in the Bible. The next step of getting faith ready, is we can shod our feet with shoes, however, if we do not tie the shoes, they are in danger of falling off. Tying the shoes ensures our walk in the word, along that narrow path is more secure, with less chance to be tripped up by the loose laces. Maybe a twist of an ankle can happen to knock us off our path, making us limp to struggle down the path or get pulled off in some unusual way. The enemy wants us to stay loose with the word, and not tie up the laces, so the shoes can be easily removed. Read the word, clothe yourself with it, secure the word not only in your heart, but around you. An awesome deterrent to someone who may want to steal the word from you in some way.
Tying up our shoes is up to us, out responsibility. Faith coming from understanding grace is also our responsibility.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (James 1:5)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight”
For we live by faith, not by sight. (2 Cor 5:7)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Eph 2:8-9 )
1 John 2:22-23
Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also.
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body
(1Cor 6:19-20)
God, your wrap-around presence is our defense.
In your kindness look upon the faces of your anointed ones. (Psalm 84:9)
John 7:38
He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’”
And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. (Genesis 3:8)
Arise! For this matter is your responsibility, but we will be with you; be courageous and act.” (Ezra 10:4)
“And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you,... Deuteronomy 28:1-68
